A twenty something Londoner on the hunt for the best places to eat, drink and pass my time.

Contemplating 'normality'

My daily soundtrack has been very different, the last two and a half months. From energetic work out music, 'How to Fail' podcasts and train announcements, it's become wood pigeons, the trickle of a fountain and Absolute Radio (my parents love the 80s).

From quarantine, with love

It feels weird returning to this blog at a time like this, especially when you consider it was my place to document restaurants and events for so long. The fact of the matter is that as my following remained static, my invites from PRs dried up, and I wasn't sure what I had to contribute on here anymore.

Brunch at NAC

As a belated birthday treat, I asked my friend where she'd like to go for brunch. As we're both south west I thought she'd suggest somewhere local, but I was quite excited when she said she'd had her eye on NAC for a while, so did I want to try there?

Dating diaries: on being enough

People think that because I date, I know how to date. They ask for me advice - what to wear, what to say - when clearly, as someone "who dates" i.e. is never in a relationship, I don't know what I'm doing any more than the next person.

Sherry tasting with Tio Pepe

Mention sherry to anyone, and most likely they'll describe it as a 'Granny' drink. It's certainly not a 'hip' libation; it's not a G&T, or the increasingly popular Aperol Spritz... But truth be told, I've never tried sherry. So when I was invited to a tasting, I was curious.

Who What When Where How & Why

The Newport Street Gallery is one of my favourite galleries in London (joint first with the Saatchi Gallery). It's still a relatively hidden gem, in Vauxhall, of all places. Currently, it's playing host to Gavin Turk's 'Who What When Where How & Why'.

Heist Bank's offerings are criminally good

Picture this: you're planning your night out. You want something chilled - preferably a few bars, potentially a club, but you don't want to commit. But then when you're in the first place, you're loathe to move, but you don't want to feel like you missed out, etc etc. Nightmare, no?

Love Surgery at Urban Coterie

There are a handful of journalists I really love. To win me over, their writing has to be witty, funny, clever and ever so slightly self-depreciating to compensate for the fact they're terrifically eloquent. Two of these journalists are Dolly Alderton and Cosmo Landesman.

Macrame Masterclass with Wool and the Gang

You always hear about cool classes in London, don't you? Recently I've been struggling with my anxiety, so I jumped at the opportunity to do some arts and crafts, and take my mind off, well, my mind.

Venturing Beyond, finding Watt's Up & Illuminated Ink

I love weekends. I love not having to set an alarm. I love the need for my dressing gown, longer showers, the luxury of having more time to apply my make up. But the main reason I love weekends is because I get to make the most of what London has to offer.

Spirited Sermons at Reverend J.W. Simpson with Glendalough Gin

After discovering that I would being attending Spirited Sermons, part of a series of talks with gin tasting, alone, I decided to treat the evening as little date with myself. I changed my top. I put a pop of coral lipstick on. It was going to be great, company or no company.

My rhinoplasty: Q&A

Oh hey! It's my (fake-tanned) face. Lil disclaimer: these answers are all personal, and not at all from a medical point of view. In terms of the more technical ins and outs of the procedure, or any cosmetic procedure, please seek a consultation with a medical professional. That aside, let's crack on.

That time I went shopping and it made me really hate shopping

Hi-de-hi, everyone. I haven't written a personal post for a while because there have been a few things going on in my little mind, but it's been my prerogative not to share them.

Ask For Janice, Smithfields Market

I'm not a "City" girl. As much as I adore corporate attire worn on the likes of "Suits" (Donna and Rachel are absolute goals), I'm more of a jeans and ankle boots kinda gal. But any fears I had of starched suits and pencil skirts making me look more shabby than chic were erased when my friend and I rocked up to Ask For Janice.

Eat and drink your way through London Fashion Week

So this is the first time since leaving university that I haven't been involved in London Fashion Week in any shape or form - I'm not working it, and I'm not watching it. It's seriously gutting (as in, it makes my heart hurt), but I know I'm not alone.

#TheBloggersMarket, take two

Following on from the success of the initial blogger's market back in January, the gals put it on all over again, this time in the chic setting of The Hoxton, Holborn. So I grabbed a gal pal and headed to central early-ish on a Saturday morning.

WUBU2?

Hi guys - it's been a while. Lots has been going on this month. I fell into a blogging funk and I didn't know how to snap out of it. I didn't know what to write or when to write  or if I even had anything to write about... It sucked. So, what have I been up to in my month's hiatus?

L'Eto Caffe

Unfortunately for London, it's earned itself a bit of a reputation as a faddy city. But the great thing about L'Eto Caffe is that it's not faddy at all. Everything it does (and it does a lot) it does exceedingly well. Mr Kipling ain't got a thing on this place.

On getting a proper job (!)

Guys, it finally happened. Although not in the way I thought it would, and not, as many would think, in the editorial field. But life has a funny way of surprising you (me) and I like to think it's all worked out for the best.
